Nominate an Austin Tree of the Year

One of the great things about living in Austin, Texas is the scenery. Do you have a favorite tree? The City of Austin is looking for nominations for the 2011 Tree of the Year. One large and one small tree on public or private property within the Austin city limits will be chosen. The winning trees will be based on proper tree selection, care and placement. Keep in mind, it must be located on or visible from public property. Make sure it is native to the area or on Austin’s Grow Green list (available at local nurseries).

Austin has been going green for quite some time, and this is one more step that we can take in appreciating the beautiful outdoors.
