The numbers are in for December. Compared to last year, the number of single-family Austin homes sold in December 2011 is up from 2010. According to recent figures reported by the Austin Board of Realtors (ABR), there were 11 percent more home sales and 12 percent more pending sales than there were the year before.
This is good news for you if you’re thinking about selling your Austin home. The number of Austin homes sold has been very slowly but steadily increasing over the last several months. When you consider all of 2011, ABR’s number show that home sales were up by 7 percent from 2010. Although there were fewer listings overall last month compared to 2010, keep in mind that fewer people tend to list their homes in winter anyway.
