The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is holding the AIA Austin Homes Tour 2012 this weekend. There will be 13 Austin homes on tour Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6 and 7, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
If you’ve never taken this self-guided tour before, it’s a great opportunity to see some of the latest trends in home decor and architecture. It can give you an idea of what you might like to do with your own home or some of the interesting features available in various homes throughout the Central Texas region. This year, there are eight homes featuring renovation projects, from minor remodeling to additions to whole-home makeovers.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by cash, check or credit card at the AIA, located at 801 W. 12th Street in Austin. Children under 10 are free. You will receive a wristband, a map of the tour and a list of guidelines for participation. Keep in mind that photos and videos are not allowed, and guests are asked to please remove their shoes before entering the homes.
Call the AIA at (512) 452-4332 or visit the AIA Austin Homes Tour 2012 website (http://www.aiahomestour.com/) for details.
